Reinhard Germer – Design Director

Reinhard is a trained architect with extensive experience in the fields of architecture and lighting design.

Studying in Berlin and Barcelona, Reinhard completed undergraduate and post graduate architectural degrees, before working as an architect in a number of firms in Germany. A passion for lighting later led Reinhard to undertake post graduate studies in lighting technology and work with lighting consultants Kardorff Engineering on a number of high profile projects, including Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate and the VW Factory in Dresden.

Reinhard later opened his own lighting design consultancy ‘mediumlicht’ in Berlin, where his projects included the German Embassy in Warsaw and the exterior lighting of the Bauhaus Archive Museum. He subsequently joining London based lighting architects Speirs & Major Associates, where he worked on a range of major public and commercial projects.

Reinhard is the winner of a number of lighting design competitions; a member of the Architectural Association (Berlin Chapter); and an advisor for the architectural lighting design masters study program at the University of Wismar, Germany.
